SDD components
The main components of the SDD include :
- A flow splitter used to evenly distribute the incoming flow and direct it towards the vortex drop shafts.
- Two vortex drop shafts designed to maximise the gravitational and centrifugal forces used for sediment and oil separation.
- An oil storage area including including a quick access port for inspection and maintenance from the ground level.
- A large sediment storage area located at the bottom of the unit. The configuration of the system greatly reduces the risk of pollutant oil wash out.

The SDD3 is designed and fabricated with high quality materials for exceptional durability
The external structure of the SDD3 is a reinforced concrete manhole which complies with all precast manhole manufacturing standards.
The flow diversion insert is made of high quality 5052-H32 aluminum alloy which has excellent mechanical properties, fatigue and corrosion resistance.
